BIBLE OF THE DEVIL
The Diabolic Procession/ cruz20

release dates: Jul 06 (US) / Sept 06 (Europe)

Hailing from Chicago, IL, Bible of the Devil is a four-piece rock n' roll metal assault squad specializing in brutal, melodic, riff-driven rock n' roll metal anthems evoking images of urban debauchery, violence, human dementia, and conquest. With stylistic nods to heavy metal of the 70s and 80s, yet with modern sensibilities, Bible of the Devil intend their moniker as a euphemism for rock n' roll itself, a lofty declaration of their electric mission. Having toured extensively throughout the United States and mainland Europe in the years of the new millennium, the band has several releases to their credit including: FIREWATER AT MY COMMAND (2002, Genuflect Records), TIGHT EMPIRE (2003, Raw Deth Records / 2004, Dead Teenager Records) and a split seven inch EP with fellow Chicagoans The Last Vegas (2004, Scarey Records).  In 2005, Bible of the Devil unleashed the opus BRUTALITY, MAJESTY, ETERNITY (2005 Scarey Records CD), and expanded their touring endeavors and label interest to Europe.  The Windy City metallions followed in 2006 with another split seven inch, this time with The Lord Weird Slough Feg (2006, Threat Records), and will release their fourth full-length offering in July titled THE DIABOLIC PROCESSIONBible of the Devil's first release for Rome, Italy, based Cruz Del Sur Music, THE DIABOLIC PROCESSION addresses the fable of the Children's Crusades as a metaphor for our troubled times, while weaving the chronology of the story into the framework of their most heavy and epic songwriting to date.  Deploying a twin-guitar onslaught emphasizing melodic, harmonized leads and pummeling riff attacks, the propulsive rhythms and infectious vocal stylings of Bible of the Devil coalesce to form a veritable rock n' roll juggernaut.

Bible of the Devil will play several dates in the Eastern U.S. following the release of THE DIABOLIC PROCESSION in July, 2006, and return to mainland Europe for a tour in October, 2006, in addition to numerous shows in Chicago and around the Midwest throughout the rest of the year.  With a punishing output both live and recorded, Bible of the Devil is truly a band for those who demand their metal sans the prefix "nu".

A BRIEF SYNOPSIS OF "THE DIABOLIC PROCESSION":
Perhaps the most bizarre and tragic fable passed down through the annals of Christendom is that of the Children’s Crusades.  In the year 1212, a young shepherd boy named Stephen de Cloyes, inspired by a vision he claimed was Christ, is said to have rallied tens of thousands of children and peasants in the common goal of liberating Jerusalem from captivity by the Arab Saracens.  Believing their faith and purity to supersede the military strength of previous armies of failed Christian Holy Warriors comprised of grown men, the children are said to have undertaken an ill-advised and most certainly doomed pilgrimage from northern France with the goal of reaching the Holy Sepulchre.  Despite the staunch warnings by King Philip Augustus and learned men at the University of Paris, the travesty continued, taking shape as a popular folk movement among the lower classes and inspiring a nearly identical movement around the same time in western Germany under the direction of a lad named Nicholas...
