The name SLOUGH FEG is nowadays a synonymous for True Heavy Metal.
Fifteen years have passed since singer Mike Scalzi moved from Philadelphia to California as to live close to what was at that moment the epicentre of Metal music, and formed a band that had to recall the roots of Heavy Metal, THE LORD WEIRD SLOUGH FEG.

Slough Feg was the name of a character in a comic book, (“Slayne the Berserker”), but mainly a legendary creature (the demon lord) from the Irish mythology. That’s where the unusual name of this unusual band comes from.
Over the years SLOUGH FEG have always been an unique band; blending True Metal music with a dose of weirdness and originality has somehow closed them the doors of massive popularity, but whose integrity has established an exclusive alliance and loyalty to their fans, only recognize to few Metal bands.
After three successful albums under Dragonheart/SPV and several European tours, SLOUGH FEG inked a deal with CRUZ DEL SUR MUSIC, the label that had worked with Mike Scalzi’s and John Cobbett’s (gt) side-project HAMMERS OF MISFORTUNE.

‘Atavism’ was recorded, mixed and mastered during 2004, sawing also the extra-help of old friend and once band mate Justin Phels (who incidentally played bass on the first Slough Feg album) which enabled to enrich the raw tracks with guitar flourishes and extra vocal melodies.
Short after the end of the recordings John Cobbett left the band in good terms, being replaced by Angelo Tringali from Cold Mourning.
After a succesful tour across USA in Summer 2004 and the live-performace at the Keep In True festival in Germany, drummer and founding member Greg Haa decides to quit the band for personal reasons.
He is shortly replaced, at the beginning of 2005 by Antoine Reuben-Diavola (from HADAN).
