Belgian\/Chilean up-and-coming doomsters\u00a0KING HEAVY<\/strong>\u00a0will release their second album,\u00a0\u201cGuardian Demons\u201d<\/strong>,\u00a0on\u00a0June 22 via\u00a0Cruz Del Sur Music<\/strong>.\u00a0Featuring six songs of crushing,\u00a0epic and mid-paced doom,\u00a0\u201cGuardian Demons\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0was\u00a0recorded at\u00a0DM6 Studios<\/strong>\u00a0in Santiago\u00a0and features\u00a0artwork\u00a0by\u00a0Alec Zalogin<\/strong>, a close friend of the band.<\/p>\n Comments bassist Daniel Perez Saa<\/strong>: \u201cThe cover painting represents the demonic menace and guardian\u2019s serenity \u2014\u00a0 a figure that has two appearances depending on the point of view, but always with a sense of impending doom looming at the back. The layout and art vary for every format of the album.\u201d<\/p>\n The follow-up to the band\u2019s 2015 self-titled album marks a first for\u00a0KING HEAVY<\/strong>: Vocalist\u00a0Luce Veldmark<\/strong>\u00a0joined the band in the studio instead of recording in his home country of Belgium.<\/p>\n \u201cThis truly has been an incredible process,\u201d notes Saa<\/strong>. \u201cThe sound is a lot more consistent because we had Luce<\/strong> in the studio with us. Plus, it sounds better. Being\u00a0involved\u00a0in Luce<\/strong>\u2019s vocal recordings\u00a0where we all could take part made us feel more in control over the entire process. Definitely and without a shadow of a doubt, this is the best KING HEAVY<\/strong> album to date, from the compositions to the arrangements, details and the sound. The vocal lines are our most epic yet, too. Hard to believe, but it is true! This is one hell of a performance from Luce<\/strong>. I highly value the work he did on his own\u00a0in Europe, but undeniably, that level of enthusiasm and artistry came through the simple fact of being together \u2014 a unique situation for us.\u201d<\/p>\n Looking to strike the perfect stylistic balance between their 2014\u00a0\u201cHorror absoluto\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0EP and self-titled album,\u00a0Saa\u00a0<\/strong>says the organic sound found on\u00a0\u201cGuardian Demons\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0benefits\u00a0KING HEAVY<\/strong>\u2019s oftentimes complex and flowing arrangements, a trademark of the band. \u201cThe sound on\u00a0\u2018Guardian Demons\u2019 <\/strong>leans a little bit more toward\u00a0\u2018Horror Absoluto\u2019<\/strong>, probably because the songs are a little more detailed this time. We wanted to create an authentic sound somewhere between pure heavy metal and classic doom.\u201d<\/p>\n KING HEAVY<\/strong>\u00a0is already prepping live activity in support of\u00a0\u201cGuardian Demons\u201d<\/strong>,\u00a0with dates planned in Chile and Europe for October and November, as well as an appearance at Austrian\u2019s\u00a0Doom Over Vienna<\/strong>\u00a0festival, which takes place on\u00a0November 9-10.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is doom metal in its essence: No masks, no ornaments, no vestments,\u201d states Saa<\/strong>. \u201cWe are looking forward to playing the new material live and demonstrating what we achieved from years of hard work. It\u2019s really exciting to take part in the album\u2019s launch and tour cycle.
