Portuguese heavy metal battalion RAVENSIRE<\/strong> has entered Studio 13<\/strong> in Lisbon to begin work on their third full-length album, \u201cA Stone Engraved In Red\u201d<\/strong>. The album will be engineered once again by Paulo \u2018Paul\u00e3o\u2019 Vieira<\/strong> and is due next summer via Cruz Del Sur Music<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The follow-up to 2016\u2019s \u201cThe Cycle Never Ends\u201d<\/strong> will be the first to feature new members M\u00e1rio<\/strong> (guitar) and Alex <\/strong>(drums), both of whom took part in live activity that saw RAVENSIRE <\/strong>take their brand of traditional metal into Europe. According to founding guitarist Nuno<\/strong>, \u201cA Stone Engraved In Red\u201d<\/strong> will feature all the trademarks of RAVENSIRE<\/strong>\u2019s sound, but with some new twists. Like previous RAVENSIRE<\/strong> efforts, the album artwork for \u201cA Stone Engraved In Red\u201d<\/strong> will be in black and white, although Nuno<\/strong> admits there may be a surprise within the cover. \n\u201cWe have started exploring a bit more when it comes to developing musical themes inside a song,\u201d he says. \u201cWe have a couple of longer \u2014 even by our standards \u2014 songs, with plenty of changes in moods and tempo. The material is quite diverse and, personally, it is always a\u00a0good sign when you listen to your own stuff and enjoy it!
\n\u201cThe songwriting remained the same for us,\u201d he continues. \u201cSomeone will come up with a skeleton for a song more or less finished, and then we work it up as a whole band and everyone adds their part. There is one song, however, that was co-written by me and M\u00e1rio<\/strong>. He did come up with an initial idea and then I added other parts and we created a structure. But, that was the exception to the norm!\u201d
\nNuno confirms song titles such as \u201cCarnage at Karnag\u201d<\/strong>, \u201cGabriel Lies Sleeping\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cThe Games Of Titus\u201d<\/strong> and their own tribute to recently-deceased MANILLA ROAD<\/strong> leader Mark Shelton<\/strong>, \u201cAfter The Battle\u201d<\/strong>. \u201cMark<\/strong> gave so much to the scene, so we felt it was right to dedicate this song to him. In addition, we have another tribute called \u2018Dawning In Darkness\u2019<\/strong>, which is dedicated to Hartmuth \u2018Barbarian Wrath\u2019 Schindler<\/strong> who had a terrible misfortune in the hospital and has been in a coma for more than a year. We want to pay our deepest respect and friendship to both of them.\u201d<\/p>\n
