{"id":3329,"date":"2021-11-10T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-10T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cruzdelsurmusic.com\/blog\/?p=3329"},"modified":"2021-11-09T18:47:42","modified_gmt":"2021-11-09T17:47:42","slug":"adamantis-release-storm-the-walls-first-single-off-the-daemons-strain-ep-out-in-spring-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cruzdelsurmusic.com\/blog\/index.php\/2021\/11\/adamantis-release-storm-the-walls-first-single-off-the-daemons-strain-ep-out-in-spring-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"ADAMANTIS Release \u201cStorm The Walls\u201d first single off  \u2018The Daemon\u2019s Strain\u2019 EP out in Spring 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hot off the heels of their 2020 \u201cFar Flung Realm\u201d full-length, emerging Massachusetts power metallers ADAMANTIS will release the four-song &#8220;The Daemon\u2019s Strain\u201d EP next spring via Cruz Del Sur Music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And as today the band premieres \u201cStorm The Walls\u201d, the EP\u2019s opening track on New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal You Tube channel:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Adamantis StormTheWalls V06\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TZfweKVmAIs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>ADAMANTIS started work on \u201cThe Daemon\u2019s Strain\u201d in late 2020 when all live activity was on hold due to the global pandemic. The unplanned break from shows afforded the band additional time to compose and fine-tune the material, which finds ADAMANTIS hitting their full Euro power metal-influenced stride, replete with anthemic choruses, melodic interplay and epic, gallant song constructs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe had one song recorded during the \u2018Far Flung Realm\u2019 sessions that did not make it to the album,\u201d says the band. \u201cSo, we decided to start from scratch and rework the song completely. Jeff Taft re-worked the riffs and, on a stormy night, the lyrics came together and here is how \u2018Storm the Walls\u2019 was born. We believe this is a fantastic metal anthem and will be part of all our live performances. \u2018Dark Moon Goddess\u2019 is completely new. \u2018Thundermark \u2018is the oldest song we composed and was originally included in our self-released debut EP with our former vocalist Ashley Caval at the lead. We decided to re-record it with Jeff Stark and give it a fresh approach. Finally, \u2018House Carpenter\u2019, while a cover, is really the centerpiece of \u2018The Daemon\u2019s Strain\u2019. It\u2019s the song we worked most of the time on and thought more about, with the intention to create an epic metal take on this ancient Scottish song.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drums and vocals for \u201cThe Daemon\u2019s Strain\u201d were tracked at Kennedy Studios in Burlington, Massachusetts with producer\/engineer Steve Aliperta; all instruments were laid down at the respective home studios of Pelchat, Estrada and Taft. The making of \u201cThe Daemon\u2019s Strain\u201d EP marked new territory for the band \u2014 the EP was created not only behind the momentum of \u201cFar Flung Realm\u201d, but also with the support of Cruz Del Sur Music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018Far Flung Realm\u2019 opened us to a wide audience, but we have a lot more to offer!\u201d says the band. \u201cWhile \u2018Far Flung Realm\u2019 was originally written as a self-release, \u2018The Daemon\u2019s Strain\u2019 was conceived and created completely under the label\u2019s wing, which allowed us to focus our efforts on further developing our sound. We believe that listeners will hear many more epic elements here than in \u2018Far Flung Realm\u2019, as well as some interesting excursions into dark, atmospheric passages.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pelchat and Taft left the band and are now focused on their other projects. Cody has reactivated his CURSE GUARD project and begun the writing process for their debut, while Taft will soon be releasing his first LP with his newly formed band. In spite of these changes, the waning months of 2021 will find ADAMANTIS continuing live show activity in support of \u201cFar Flung Realm\u201d with the new lineup that includes the super talented Teddy Shao on guitar. To go one better, the band has already started thinking about songwriting for the second LP.&nbsp;<br \/><br \/>\u201cWe have a nice set of performances lined up, including support to national touring acts like UNTO OTHERS, live streaming events and appearances at U.S.-based festivals,\u201d concludes the band. \u201cWe also hope to bring our live set to Europe at some point and are discussing options. On the creative side, we are working on new material for a full-length album with the new input Teddy brings.
