\nCRUZ DEL SUR MUSIC<\/strong> announces to have reached an agreement with Pennsylvania’s ARGUS<\/strong> for the release of their new album entitled “Boldly Stride the Doomed”<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

ARGUS<\/strong> was formed in 2007 and released their self titled debut album on Shadow Kingdom records in 2009. The press favorably welcomed the band,\u00a0 describing ARGUS <\/strong>as “…a chest-thumping display of epic heavy metal as performed by a bunch of staunch doom metal fans. Indeed, Argus are all about big riffs, galloping anthems, dark melodies and tube amps.”<\/em> (Liz Brenner, Decibel)<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Chris Barnes at HELLRIDE MUSIC<\/strong>,\u00a0 to make ARGUS<\/strong> you have to “take some classic, dual guitar playing (read METAL) filter it through a mixture of\u00a0 melancholy doom riffs, lockstep rhythmic work and soaring, emotional vocals and you\u2019ve got the recipe for success. You can\u2019t argue with this band\u00a0 on record, and they never miss a step live. It\u2019s a shame that a veteran crew such as this isn\u2019t touring (and headlining over) the current crop of\u00a0 popular doom rockers such as The Sword, Early Man, etc.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The recordings of “Boldly Stride The Doomed”<\/strong> will take place at Soundscape Studios in Pittsburgh, PA. The initial tracking sessions are set to\u00a0 begin on Dec. 4-6th and will continue throughout December and January. The one and only master of heavy metal wizardry, Dave Watson, will be at\u00a0 the engineering and production helm once again after his acclaimed job on ARGUS’ self-titled debut album.<\/p>\n

The new “Boldly Stride The Doomed”<\/strong> is set to contain approximately 8-9 songs, including track titles such as:“A Curse On The World”, “The\u00a0 Ladder”, “42-7-29”, and “Durendal<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

ARGUS<\/strong> features Butch Balich of PENANCE<\/strong> fame on vocals and will perform on the 16th of April 2011 at the HAMMER OF DOOM V festival<\/strong>, the\u00a0 prestigious doom and epic metal annual appointment in W\u00fcrzburg,Germany . ARGUS<\/strong> will have the chance to perform together with a cast of incredible\u00a0 bands such as PENTAGRAM, WHILE HEAVEN WEPT, ATLANTEAN KODEX, SOLSTICE<\/strong> and many more… an event for the upcoming year to take note of.<\/p>\n

“Boldly Stride the Doomed”<\/strong> will be released by CRUZ DEL SUR MUSIC<\/strong> simultaneously on CD, vinyl and digital form on the 3rd of May 2011.<\/p>\n
