Very exciting news for all the ARGUS‘ fans in Europe. The band will be back in Europe in April 2015 for at least 2 shows, one of them at the prestigious ROADBURN FESTIVAL! But first the band will hit their European hometown Dublin, where a show is scheduled on April 10th at Gypsy Rose Rock and Blues Bar.
Mighty TERMINUS from Belfast has been confirmed as supporting act. Be there!
Back to ROADBURN FESTIVAL, here’s the official statement from the organizers:
“It is our pleasure to announce that Cruz Del Sur recording artists ARGUS will perform at the 20th edition of Roadburn Festival on Sunday, April 12 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Hailing from the Western Pennsylvania ARGUS has been building a reputation as one of the finest bands in the metal underground. Forging a potent mix of epic traditional metal, laced with moody passages and doom flourishes ARGUS brings a stunning double guitar attack, a tight and pounding rhythm section and strong, soaring vocals. Eschewing pure nostalgia for the “old school” ARGUS evokes the spirit of Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, Candlemass, Dio, et al all the while bringing their own personal, unique flair to their music. Their most recent release, Beyond the Martyrs was met with praise by critics worldwide and was received rabidly by their fanbase. The band has built a reputation as a tremendous live act having toured Europe most recently in the Autumn of 2013. It is a set not to be missed ! 2015 looks to be a busy year which will see ARGUS releasing a new 7″, ‘Let Now Your Heart be Troubled’ / ‘Streets of Gold’ (to coincide with their appearance at Roadburn 2015) as well as completing their 4th, as yet untitled, album. Says ARGUS “We are honored and humbled to be invited to an event as prestigious as Roadburn and to play alongside so many killer bands. We look forward to meeting you all and to raising the flag of metal over the Green Room !”
The 20th edition of Roadburn Festival runs from April 9 to 12, 2015 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Get your tickets HERE.”
The release-date for ARGUS’ third studio album “Beyond the Martyrs” is quickly approaching.
Echoes of this solid offering are bouncing across the net with reviews are already praising the album as Argus’ “most memorable studio release to date” (theobelisk.net).
But since the dawn of humanity music has been a subjective field, and we believe there’s no better way to form one’s own opinion than by hearing what everyone is talking about.
Last Monday, Pitchfork Magazine premiered the first song off the album, choosing the pounding beats of “No Peace Beyond the Line”; Pitchfork magazine’s feature can be still checked HERE:
Time has now come to serve all starving metal hounds a new song off “Beyond the Martyrs”; the opener track, “By Endurance We Conquer” – a majestic display of sonic grandeur inspired by Ernest Shackleton’s Imperial Trans-Antarctic expedition in 1914.
The track is now available at our bandcamp location, where you can also stream most of the Cruz Del Sur Music releases for free.
Pre-orders of “Beyond the Martyrs” will start by the end of the next week, check our website, our facebook page or our twitter account for more details soon.
Official release date is Oct 1st in US/Canada and Oct 4th in Europe for the cd and digital formats. A Gatefold vinyl edition will be released by the end of October 2013.
