After​ RUG RAT's core members went their separate ways, guitarists Buzz Pace and Paul Duthil reunited in September 1992 to forge a new beast: ​RICTUS GRIN.

​RICTUS GRIN fused elements of classical, thrash, jazz, hard-core, and heavy metal to create a fresh, progressive sound for the 90s. Their relentless energy earned them opening slots for legends like​ MOTORHEAD, SACRED REICH, NUCLEAR ASSAULT and​ METAL CHURCH.
